Following Samantha Marie Ware’s accusations against former “Glee” co-star Lea Michele
, who allegedly created a toxic environment for her on set, another “Glee” star has addressed those claims, this time Heather Morris, who played Brittany on the hit musical series.
“Was she unpleasant to work with? Very much so,” the actress wrote on Twitter. “For Lea to treat others with the disrespect that she did for as long as she did, I believe she should be called out.”
The controversy began when Samantha responded to Lea’s recent tweet supporting the Black Lives Matter movement, calling out the “Scream Queens” actress for making her life “a living hell” when they filmed the show’s final season together.
“Disheartened” and “disappointed” to hear the claims, meal kit company HelloFresh promptly dropped their partnership with Lea. The actress has since issued an apology
, stating, “We all can grow and change and I have definitely used these past several months to reflect my own shortcomings.”
Users online have been speculating whether Lea’s alleged actions are racist, specifically her threats to defecate on Samantha’s—who is black—hair or wig, as white people messing with black people’s hair is considered a racially motivated assault.
“Although I cannot comment on her beliefs, I think we’re assuming, and you know what happens when we all assume,” Heather wrote.
One Twitter user responded, “A black woman said she was racist towards her. End of story.”
