Lea Salonga spills new details about classic film ‘Sana Maulit Muli’
Broadway star Lea Salonga has shared new details about her 1995 drama film with Aga Muhlach, “Sana Maulit Muli”—which remains to be a fan favorite up to this day!

In an interview with Toni Gonzaga on “I Feel U” last Sunday, June 7, Lea was asked why she thinks people are still raving about her tandem with ‘80s heartthrob Aga.

“I don’t know kasi sa dinami-dami ng naging partner ni Aga, bakit 'yung sa amin pa 'yung pinagti-tripan ng tao? I don’t know,” she answered.

“Sana Maulit Muli”, which follows the long distance relationship between Agnes (Lea) and Jerry (Aga) shot some scenes in the United States, and Lea reveals the struggles they had over that.

“It was a tough shoot for everyone. Especially when we were in the States. It was a good environment, but it was also a difficult environment. The work itself was difficult,” she said.

Lea also admitted that she’s one of those actresses who sometimes experience difficulty crying on set, but their director, the legendary Olivia M. Lamasan, was able to encourage her. She shared, “Napiga niya ako. By the time we got towards the end of the shoot, it got easier.”

Lea then shared an incident where she was able to cry immediately because of pressure! “There was one scene that we did that we were able to cry one take. It was Aga’s big monologue. There’s a fire and parang we’re on this couch and he’s holding me. Minamadali na siyang pauwiin, because we were up in Baguio and he had a commercial shoot the next day.”

“Lahat kami na-pressure to get this shot done in one take because he had to leave. At this point, I stopped listening already to what Aga was saying my brain was more like, ‘We have to get this done. This guy’s gotta get down off the mountain tonight,” said Lea.
