Jordan Peele, Issa Rae team up for psychological horror and sci-fi about female identity
Oscar-winning director Jordan Peele’s next project will touch on female perfection and identity, starring Emmy-nominated “Insecure” star Issa Rae.

“Sinkhole” is described as a “thought-provoking genre movie” with elements of sci-fi and horror, about a mysterious sinkhole.

The movie will be based on a short story by Leyna Krow, which tells of a young family who moves into their dream home despite there being a massive sinkhole in the backyard. This sinkhole apparently has the ability to fix what’s broken. But can it fix people, too?

Universal is set to produce the film, according to Deadline, and Jordan will produce via his Monkeypaw Productions. Issa, Win Rosenfeld, Montrel McKay, and Sara Rastogi have signed on as producers, as well.

The project is part of Universal’s five-year deal with Monkeypaw Productions, which distributed “Get Out”, “Us”, “The Photograph”, and “Little,” with the latter two featuring Issa.
